These hands-on design challenges provide a fun, interactive introduction to renewable energy and engineering design concepts.

Renewable Energy

Sail Cars:

Students work in teams to design, test, and redesign a simple car that harnesses the wind.

KidWind:

A multi-day wind turbine building competition. A hands on way to learn about renewable energy and the engineering design process.

Climate and Waste Programs

These multi-day classroom programs are fully funded through the support of the City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office and the Azulita Project, and provide a fun, hands-on introduction to the topics of climate change and waste reduction.

Climate Change and Renewable Energy:‍ ‍

A three-part program that builds climate literacy and introduces renewable energy through engaging lessons, real-world science, and hands-on activities.

Waste Reduction Strategies:‍ ‍

A three-part program that teaches students how to reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink waste through interactive lessons.
