In addition to our full- and part-time staff, Willow Bend has two full-time AmeriCorps volunteers.
The duties of each are listed below.
Environmental Educator
- Teaches environmental education classes 2-3 days per week in local schools (K-12)
- Leads field trips and Family Science events at Willow Bend Environmental Education Center
- Leads field trips at the Recycling Center
- Participates in Community Events (Earth Day, Science in the Park, Sustainable Living Fair, etc.)
- Assists with development of new Discovery Room Exhibits and new classroom programs.
Outreach & Development Assistant
- Assists with Grant Writing and Fundraising Activities
- Helps with Marketing and PR including newsletters, event fliers, and web site maintenance
- Assists with general office tasks
- Participates in Willow Bend activities such as open hours, Family Science Night, etc.
- Represents Willow Bend at special events and community events such as Earth Day, the Sustainable Living Fair, Festival of Science, etc.
