Family Science
Willow Bend offers many fun activities for families! These programs are appropriate for children 4 and up with an adult. All events take place at Willow Bend. To help cover our costs, a $5 contribution per child is kindly suggested. Please see our online calendar for upcoming events.

Community Events
Throughout the year, Willow Bend participates in various community events to help educate the public about the environment! Past community events include Science in the Park, Day of the Cowboy, and the City of Flagstaff’s Earth Day Celebration. Please see our online calendar for upcoming events.
Green First Fridays
Join Willow Bend the First Friday of every month to celebrate local sustainability.
- FREE Recycling Tour: Join Willow Bend Staff on a walk through of Flagstaff's Materials Recovery Facility (Recycling Center) to learn more about the “behind the scenes” of recycling. The tour lasts from 3–4pm. Meet us at the Recycling Center at the corner of Butler and Babbit.
- FREE Sustainable Living Tour: Swing by Willow Bend for a tour of how we “walk the talk” with our passive solar building, BioBug, rainwater harvesting system, and more! The tour meets at Willow Bend and lasts from 4:30–5:30pm.
- First Friday Art Walk: Check out the amazing work done by local artists as part of our Artists for Awareness campaign! Each purchase supports Willow Bend and offers gifts you can feel good about giving and receiving! Visit our Willow Bend gallery from 6–9pm.
Ongoing Events
Kids’ Activities Hours: Bring your children to Willow Bend on Wednesdays and Fridays during the school year from 12am–4pm. Your kids will have an opportunity to play in our Discovery Room and participate in a recycled art activity. Activities change every week. No need to RSVP, just drop in!
